the Blue Hearts Jazz group, from  NYC and the Hudson Valley, play music from the Swing, Bebop, Latin & Cool Jazz eras of modern jazz, written exclusively by African American composers. The group's original members are alumni of the SUNY Jazz Ensemble and SUNY New Paltz Jazz Studies Program: Myles Lino/tenor sax, Darius Beckford/piano, Alfonso Ramos/upright bass, Kim Peralta/drums.  

The blue Hearts have also performed with Poet G. Oliver King, Clarinetist Don Byron , Bassist Christopher Dean Sullivan and the late Saxophonist, Ray Blue.
